§ Legal — Terms of Use

Terms of use.

What you're agreeing to when you use Glovebox.

Last updated: 15 October 2026
Summary

The short version.

  • Apple's EULA applies, the same one that covers every iPhone app you install.
  • The dates come from DVLA. Treat the app as a reminder, not the official record.
  • Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not us. Cancel and refund through your Apple ID.
  • The app can't renew anything. It links to GOV.UK, where you tax the vehicle or book an MOT.

The licence

Your use of Glovebox is covered by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement (the EULA), the agreement Apple presents whenever you install an app from the App Store. Nothing on this page replaces it. These terms sit alongside it and cover a few things specific to this app.

Vehicle data

The app gets MOT and Vehicle Tax information from the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service, through our lookup server. We pass that data to your device without changing it.

That data can be wrong, stale or temporarily unavailable for reasons outside our control. You're still responsible for ensuring your vehicle is taxed and has a valid MOT. The app is a reminder tool, not a legal record. Always verify against GOV.UK before relying on a date for anything that matters.

What the app doesn't do

The app does not, and cannot, renew your vehicle tax or MOT. What it does instead:

What happens after you tap through is between you and GOV.UK or your test centre.

Subscriptions and payments

The app is a paid download (currently £1.99) which includes two vehicles. The optional Unlimited Vehicles tier (currently £4.99 per year) lifts that cap.

All payments are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. We never see your card details. Cancellations, refunds and billing questions are handled by Apple through Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device, or via reportaproblem.apple.com.

Subscriptions auto‑renew through Apple unless you turn that off at least 24 hours before the renewal date, in line with Apple's standard subscription terms.

Acceptable use

Don't try to break the app, abuse the lookup server or use the data to harass people. We rate-limit lookups to keep the service usable for everyone; if you reach the limit, wait and try again.

"As is"

The app is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We try to keep it accurate, available and free of bugs, but we can't promise it will work perfectly on every device, every time.

To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any loss arising from inaccurate vehicle data, missed deadlines, or the app being unavailable. Use it as a reminder alongside your own records, not as your only safeguard against a fine.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of the page is the version you're agreeing to. Continuing to use the app after a change counts as acceptance of the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
